The Peace Camp returns to Barcelona

More than 200 boys and girls, aged between 13 and 14 talk and reflect, to 17 October on the equality, rights and duties, sustainability, immigration, participation, AIDS ... everything and learning to use dialogue and creativity in conflict resolution.

The cities participating in 2009 are: Algiers, Amman, Barcelona, Cape Town, Casablanca, Cologne, Dakar, Dhaka, Gdansk, Istanbul, Maputo, Medellin, Monterrey, Montevideo, Naples, Salvador, Sarajevo, Tripoli, Valparaiso Zhengzhou.

In total, have been linked to the project of Camp de la Pau more than two thousand young people from fifty cities from all continents with a common goal: building a fairer, more equitable and peaceful from their own experiences and aspirations.

The first Peace Camp was held during the Forum of Cultures in Barcelona in 2004. Since then it has held in the city of Barcelona in 2005, in Montevideo in 2006, the Universal Forum of Cultures Monterrey in 2007 and in Naples in 2008. Next year will travel to Valparaiso, a city that hosts the third edition of the Universal Forum of Cultures (22 October 2010-7 January 2011).

This time the sixteen schools in Barcelona, who will act as ambassadors for the city of Barcelona are from the IES Princep de Viana (Sant Andreu).
