Progress and Value Workshop Series. Structure and Content
The Progress and Value Workshops are structured around an introductory session followed by four modules. The agenda has been initially set for a two-day program; however this standard must be adapted to each particular workshop, its context and needs.
The Introduction Session offers an overview of the Global Compact as a unique organizing framework for global corporate citizenship. Particular attention is paid to the ten principles and their underlying values.
1. Defining Progress and Determining Value. This module explores how companies may determine the practical meaning of the ten principles in their own organization, how to define an inspiring vision and ways of exercising leadership for change.
2. The Module Managing Progress deals with change management issues: how a company can change its way of doing things in order to create value responsibly, while unleashing creativity and adding value to existing core policies.
3. Measuring and Communicating Progress is very closely related to the COP Requirement. Questions addressed in this module include obstacles that companies typically encounter when drafting their COP, and how to determine which indicators are most appropriate to be used and why.
4. Acting to Improve Progress and Value Creation is a coaching session on the preparation of a real COP. GC mentors share their experience in a one-to-one conversation. Although it figures as ‘optional’ in our Guide, this module has proven to be extremely effective and rewarding.
