"Who said that we are the future? We want people to listen to us now". This unanimous cry was heard every time young people stepped onto a stage during the Universal Forum of Cultures - Barcelona 2004, or at the Peace Camp, or the "The World Today" Dialogue or at "Speakers' Corner", and even at the World Youth Festival
Cities are the engine of Peace Camp. They are the ones who choose their representatives, and they should support the participants when they return to their neighborhoods full of ideas and projects.
The Forum Foundation, in collaboration with the host city or the Forum's organizing committee, invited the participating cities of each of the issues according to the criteria described below.
Criteria for selection of cities
Cities Forum
Barcelona, Monterrey ...
Cities that one of the following conditions
- That they have acted as engines of development cooperation and solidarity;
- That they have suffered (or suffer) the consequences of armed conflict (war, terrorism ...), weather or environmental disasters, extreme poverty.
Initiatives to disseminate the MDGs
- That cities will be assessed are invited to support
activities for dissemination of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and, of course, practice policies of inclusion, sustainable urban development and child protection.
Twinning
- Finally, it is considered as a criterion that cities
are twinned or have selected agreements
partnership and Cooperation with the host of Camp.
